AKUDO's Mahjong Competition

Eligible Pesonnel:
Open to all Purmeian Soccer, Basketball and Mahjong Kahkis.

Rules.

Max 16 or otherwise revise competition format

Lots will be drawn in groups of 4.

Number of tables will, depend on participating personnel.

I.E if 12 ppl takes parts it will be a group of 3
Winner will proceed to Final and the 2nd position with the most money of all the 3 groups will proceed.

Final 4 will then play against each another.

All matches will be of 2 rounds each.

To make it interesting, everyone that take part shall pass $5 to Davis aka YY for the Top Prize of eventual winner. Eventual winner will get all the winning he got and also plus the Top Prize of ie. 12 ppl X $5, meaning a whopping cash prize of addition $60 on top of your winning.

Venue: Nelson house and also Davis will open his house for this tournament. Please enrol and pass $5 to Davis for enrolment fees.

Captain's Ball Tournament at Paya Lebar Methodist Girls' School.

AKUDO on excursion tour competion. Well, AKUDO had shown the multi-talent nature be it in basketball or other sports. In Captain's Ball, we had shown once again that we can make it in all games!

No doubt everyone thought that Captain's Ball is a boring game, no bouncing allow, no 2 steps and no physical contact. AKUDO member's Alvin, Kenny, Yong Xiang, Wei Jie, Terence Tan and Davis had joined in the competion to bring honour back for AKUDO, who combine with girls to form Darn Fast Darn Furious!

First match was indeed a simple one but there was too much individualistic roll by several players and the problem of linking up with the girls in our team certainly made the game tough. But we manage to scrape through with a 11-3 victory.

Second match was a tough one against Victoria JC. Well, we still emerge victorious after several tight marking only for the opponent to lose concentration in the last min for us to bounce back to victory! 10-8 final score!

Third match erupted with violence as AKUDO's player couldn't stand the play acting of an opponent that fed up the whole team. Referee was bias towards opponent team, "Underwhere?" as all are christian while we are outsider. Referee had no control of the game and allow "Underwhere?" to take control of the situation and awarded their team 2 points for a mistake by Alvin who appears to be fighting for the 50-50 ball in the air. Bad mistake by the Referee and we ended up in a draw. 10-10.

4th Match was a much simple game with both team seems relax and friendly. Of course we won the game with the score 17-6. Nothing to be boastful about as the opponent's is too young for us.

5th Match was a fair fight between both team with the score tied at 15-15. Darn Fast Darn Furious was trailing badly before AKUDO's players heat up and played fantastic one-two and score point in a tremendous rate. Their defending was also in tip-top condition with Kenny outstanding in Blocks while Alvin jumper and steadiness that got us the point. The rest also did well in link-up play and scoring. The girls had been neglected for this match as we can't afford to lose points. So the tactic was change for guys to score as much points as possible, bypassing the girls, though girl per score is 2 points.

6th Match (Quarter-Final)was relatively easy but AKUDO's was still trailing due to unconcentrated play and fanciful game. But soon, we were back to our best. One-two between AKUDO players and win back the game. 12-8! The girls was involved in a bit of the action. But out fast plays was too fast for the ladies to catch up with.

7th Match (Semi-Final) was against Underwhere? again. This time we had our strategic discuss and we need the girls to help out in defend as we were always outnumber in defences as they never back track to help out. The guys were also made to marked out the girls from opposite team as they are their main threat. Thus AKUDO had shed off their girls image and did a superb man-marking. Most of the scoring and link-up play was by the guys. First half ended 3-0. Tight game. 2nd half started and AKUDO had lost concentration and was allow to chase back to 6-6 before we score a last 15 second winner to make it 7-6 only for them to score back while we celebrating. Unsportsmanship. Final Score 7-7

1.5min extra time was held. Underwhere? manage to score almost immediately after restart and Darn Fast Darn Furious was made to chase back for most of the period till 20sec left. The opponent had purposely throw the ball out of their backline as the ball would be back for them and the Referee had awarded us the possession for unsportsmanship play. Davis manage to make the ball count before bow out with cramps on both legs. Game tied at 8-8.

Golden goal was played with fast and furious pace. Darn Fast Darn Furious was simply awesome and attack from the start and Underwhere? was force to back track all the time. But in the end. We manage to score the winning shot with Kenny finishing the game. 9-8! Darn Fast Darn Furious held their head high with a graceful Victory! Several players was awed by our superb play and the Referee was impress by our teamwork. This victory was dedicate to the whole team! The girls did well in their parts to defend too.

Final against Sure Win. It will be postponed as the weather is too dark. AKUDO's player was shack out. So does the girls.

Darn Fast Darn Furious did it with pride! Next match. Final! We will emerge as Victorious!

Match Report

The very much awaited first game for Akudo ever since its establishment in 2004! The opponent seems to be easy but during the first quarter, they prove that they are a tough nut to crack! But experience and skill slowly came into play.

Starting the game with only 8 AKUDO players available. With the rest can't commit the time to be present in the game. But everything goes smoothly as the team manage to play the whole match with passion and commitment.

Starting 1st 5:

SF: Wei Jie

PF: Lennon

PG: Terence Tan

SG: Davis

C: Yong Xiang

Kenny, LinQi and Hong Kiap decided to play as substitute.

Match start off without our tallest player Kenny at the height of 187. But our PG Terence Tan prove to the team that jump ball is all about technic and timing. He manage to tap the ball forward to Wei Jie and he made the basket count in only 3 seconds. Great start!

Huo Ling counter back and managed to score back to lead Akudo by 5:4. Davis then made the first 3-point for the team to re-lead by 7:5 before he was sub out as age is catching up with him. First quarter ended with the score 13:11. Tight game!

2nd Quarter start with Lennon, Kenny, Lin Qi, Yong Xiang and Hong Kiap and it proved that they are able to unlock their defence by outscoring them 11 points. With Hong Kiap scoring 8 points out of 24 points for the team. Lin Qi had a quiet game before he contribute 6 out of the last 8 points for Akudo. But the defence let them down with 3 seconds to go as they let opponent to hit a buzzle beater 3 points shot!

3rd Quarter start with both team scoring 16 each with no one particularly impressive.

4th Quarter start off soon with Lennon making the first 3 basket and Kenny was impressive with consecutive 2 blocks against opponent who tried to score in the paint. But Kenny show it to them who's the daddy!

The match almost fired up as opponent No 9 was trip by Lennon and mumble: "No foul for Tripping?" Ending the phrase with a vulgarities which was heard by Davis who lost his temper for the first time since 2003 and said back: "If there was foul! Just sound out!" And the No 9 certainly felt frustrated and ran towards Kenny who was trying to dribble past the opponent and stick out both leg to trip him. The act was spotted by Yong Xiang and Davis who shout at him to play properly!

The match erupted with more physical play! But was neutralise by Yong Xiang who prove to them that they can't beat him with strength with a huge rebound that almost smash onto one of the opponent head! Davis also fired up which caused him to get consecutive 3 fouls by accidentally hitting on one's mouth, the other was an elbow to the head and with another foul by smacking no 9 hand while he try to shoot infront of him!

Match ended with a 14:5 run for Akudo!

Lennon prove to the team that even if he did not play with the team as often for the past 3 months due to Army commitment. He manage to link up well with the rest of the team. Terence had a relatively quiet game but manage to steal some ball from opponent hand but his finishing was a bit let down today. Kenny was at his usual self winning rebound and scoring in the paint. Yong Xiang proving once again no one beat him in strength and his long throw was pin-point accuracy to assist the team fast break though he finish with a 2 points game with fieldgoal 1/1. Davis finish the game making 2/2 3-pointers and a field goal of 4/5. Lin Qi shooting once again let him down but his layup and penetrating was still at his best. Hong Kiap had a good match scoring all of his 8 points in the 2nd Quarter. Wei Jie has a disappointing night in game as his 3-points shot was not at his best missing all shot and finish the game with 4 points. But as what the chinese saying goes "Lose in match, Win in romance" He won some girl fans from the opponent team.

Team AKUDO on a little trip!

Well, we are not Chelski, Liverboo, Assenal nor Manchester United who can go to Dubai all this shit!

But we also have outing that is self sufficient to the team! Haha! Just a 3days 2nights chalet at Downtown East this Friday to Sunday!

AKUDO 1 on 1 League.

Akudo's Dudes out there. Instead of waiting for things to happen, i make it happen!

League Format:
All Akudo's players who wish to take part simply tag in the tagboard and i will take note of it. No incentives will be given as this is internal competition. But there will be rankings among AKUDO players. So play hard!

Rules as such:
-It will be a 1 on 1, 21-points format.
-All players will play twice against each opponent, can be on the same days, depend on your body condition.
-Players to note down the score and sms/tell me the result for me to tabulate.
-Result will be posted out in "Team" under "Competition"
-Each Win is worth 2 points, Draw 1 worth point and Lose 0 point.
-Deadline for submission of entries will be this Thursday, 18506. So spread the news around.
-Outsider are currently not allowed unless otherwise approved by AKUDO's players.
-Commencement of Competition shall be this coming Friday, 190506 till everyone had finish their games against every single opponent.
-Updates of League Standing and Tables will be on a weekly basis, Every Friday.
-When league event over, your rank status will be forever the same. For u to climb up the ranking, u are only allow to play with player one rank above u only in 3 games of 21-points format. And only if the player agreed to your challenges.
-Challenges are to be accepted unless injured or under circumstances whereby you are not in the condition to play.
